Hello everyone- I'm happy to debut the new art print for August (yeah, August-I'm a bit late!)
"The Desert Sands"
18x24 screen print- 7 color
Onsale date: TBA
After staying away from film-related subjects for the first 3 prints this year, decided to switch it up and dive headlong into a (well known) fictional world--although it's an imagined scene and the associated film references are subtle, those among you that know your stuff will have no problem placing the location. If you aren't into this particular series and related canon stories, it would be easy to miss the context; if that's the case, hopefully you'll just enjoy the twin suns setting over the desert...
On a related note- noticed my commissioned work for the Fall has taken a serious scif turn, and I'm excited...if I think about it, some of the most memorable nature scenes stuck in my brain aren't Earth-based (or even real), so looking forward to sharing these projects with you soon.
SHIPPING UPDATE: Shipping continues from the last sale, trying to get them all out asap but still have batches to get out early this week- hopefully I'll have everything out in the next few (as always any questions about your individual orders, just shoot me a mail)
Until then, keep a low profile friends... the Empire has spies everywhere...

Damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead...
Hello my friends- hope you are doing well out there-
I've had so many great projects come my way lately that it's almost surreal- hard to complain about this, although one issue that comes with more concurrent jobs is a complete loss of sanity and time perspective-- so if I seem a bit distracted for the next few weeks please forgive me as probably going to be skipping sleep just to get things done.
This month I get to work on original images for pretty much every kind of media- movies, comics, television, video games-- it's all fair game lately and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. I promise to share things as soon as I'm allowed... as usual, the toughest part is keeping secrets when all I want really want to do is share and geek out with you all about everything.
On the shipping front- The "How Time Slips Away" prints are in and I'll start packing this weekend to start shipping first thing next week. The new Guild art print is done so I hope to debut it ASAP (as in the next day or so) so stay tuned to the usual channels... soon! -JC

"How Time Slips Away" - New Print for July
Hello my friends- Finally can debut the new Nature Guild art print release for July:
"How Time Slips Away"
10x26.5 - 5 color screenprint
Solitary adventures are nice to have every so often, but without a companion to share them with (human or otherwise), sublime moments like this one just don't seem to mean as much...
This scene is dedicated to a friend who has been constantly either underfoot or at my side for 13 years now. He's an old man by canine standards, but still the best pup there ever was..

I'll plan the onsale for this one as soon as I get the Three Voices stuff shipped out this week.-JC

Some Odds and Sods..
Hello my friends- Yes, I'm bad at updating. We can dwell on it or move on... I prefer the latter. You too? Great, let's get to it...
SDCC WRAP UP pt 1:
San Diego Comic Con came and went without a new post! Had a blast meeting a lot of you on the floor both inside and outside the Convention Center, and will have more of pics and news to share about the entire experience a bit later in the week. Let's just say I made a few great decisions, a whole lot of mistakes, and a sincere vow to do the whole thing much better next year.
If you were following me on Twitter you know I finally made it to the floor
on Saturday morning, after a 6 hour traffic fiasco on Friday. The Mondo crew, gracious and helpful as always, were handling all the tough stuff for the Prometheus poster drop/signing happening at 2PM, so I had time to
wander the area and give out a few sets of mini prints printed up as an exclusive of sorts for folks who had made it out to the Con (and braved the crowds to find me amongst the vast sea of humanity!). Meeting all those people who shared the similar interests and passions was an awesome byproduct of the giveway; my only regret was I didn't have more to give out... definitely going to do something like that again.
That reminds me.. anyone going to Boston Comic Con this weekend? I'll be there at least one day, but not working...
THREE VOICES/SHIPPING:
The printing is done and I had hoped to start shipping these last week, but a delay on the vendor end has them still in transit to me. They good news is they look great and should be here any day now; as soon as they arrive, I'll sign/number/ship out ASAP.
JULY GUILD PRINT:
Glad you asked. Let's do the reveal later today (7/29)- just let me get some sleep first!

"The Three Voices" Onsale details, SDCC news and more
Hello friends- been a few weeks since I've shared some studio news so here we go...
PRINT RELEASE NEWS-
I'll be putting "The Three Voices" art print up for sale on Wednesday July 10 at 2PM Eastern. It's an 18"x24", 9-color screen print, non-sub edition of 75.
Happy how this one turned out, started off a simple study and morphed into something a bit more layered. Also has a nice transparent rain layer to complete the effect. Many have asked about what is written on the wet, weathered note in the foreground-- maybe I'll tell, maybe not. Whatever it says, after reading it our lone figure needed some time to reflect...
SDCC FYI: Happy to report that I'll be at San Diego Comic Con on Friday and Saturday this year- can't wait! Not sure of my schedule yet but will update the details as soon as I find out. Hope to see some of you there!
That's all for now, hope to see some of you back here on Wednesday for the 'Three Voices' onsale! -JC

"The Jungle Runner" - New print for IAM8BIT show tonight!
Hello friends, I'm pleased to debut a new art print for the iam8but Entertainment System art show. Here's the tagline: "Over 80 Artists from Around the Earth Fulfilling their Retro Gaming Fantasies!!!" Well, I sure did.

Tried to include a few fun game items- gold bar, white scorpions, rattler and logs, and of course the crocs... there's also a nod to the game's designer/programmer, and an abandoned 2600 console left in the trees...Originally I had a screenprint planned (of another image entirely) but we ran out of time. In the end that was a good thing- imo this particular piece was best served by abandoning strict separated colors and just trying to create vibrant surroundings. Opening night: Friday, June 7
7 to 11pm
Tunes by DJ R-RatedIam8bit
2147 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90026
I can't make it due to being buried under by deadlines, but if you're in the area you should head down..in addition to the incredible art on display, there will be interactive exhibits as well.
Inspired by the original PITFALL game for the Atari 2600, "The Jungle Runner" is 27x10 giclee, gallery edition of 36. About the print: From the beginning, Pitfall was there.. It was the first game that consumed me on the 2600, and the first that gave rewards for achievements (Explorer's Patch!). Yes, the graphics were simple, the action extremely limited, but this did not matter; it was simply an excuse to invent imaginary virtual surroundings. The 8-bit graphics seem ancient now, but rudimentary display never seemed to limit my enjoyment of the game. In place of blocky pixels, I saw green dense jungle, and fierce organic-looking beasts. If you could magically be in my head while I played the role of Pitfall Harry, this image is a pretty close approximation of what you'd see!

Roll, tube, label, tape... repeat...
Hey all- my apologies if you're still waiting on a tube- took me longer than planned to get all that hand-finishing etc. completed! whew.
FYI the last batches of pending orders shipped out this week (a few overseas stragglers going out Monday).
UPDATE 6/4: Doh! Discovered about a half dozen tubes that didn't get shipped last week- getting them out now so if you're still one of those waiting- tube coming!-JC
In between iam8bit show stuff and furious SDCC prep, I've been even crazier than normal round here!
Also, many of you have asked about the "Three Voices" onsale- announcement this coming week (wanted to focus on getting orders out before worrying about any new stuff!)
On a more personal note- finally found my Explorers' patch!
